On the Road to Guimaras Island

On The Road Again! No churches today, we decided to have some family time with two of our best friends to ’celebrate’ our first anniversay of life in Philippines. We decided  to explore Guimaras Island or at least a little bit of it.

We started in suburban Iloilo and headed to the Ortiz Wharf with a couple of our great friends: ‘The Sainted Patient Wife’ and ’The Kano’.  We arrived just in time to take one of the  15 minute ‘pump boat’ rides to the Jordan Wharf on Guimaras.

On arrival we were met by our pre-reserved Multicab which transferred us to the Raymen Beach Resort about a 30 to 40 minute drive from the Jordan Wharf.  The countryside enroute was both rugged, lush and green.

The Raymen Beach Resort  has to be one of the nicest beach resorts on Guimaras. It offers ‘motel’ type accomodation if you chose to stay for one or more nights, several ‘beach cottages’ for your family picnic, superbly cooked  filipino cuisine and first rate service.

Their beachfront is fantastic with Island Hopping Jaunts available for small groups from the beach facing the resort and the swimming is phenomenal…

We thoroughly enjoyed our too short one day getaway…here’s our day in photos:
