Alaska, that’s right! We’re on the Road Again to Alaska. We recently had the opportunity to go to Alaska on a seven day cruise from Vancouver, BC with the Holland America Line.
She Who Must be Obeyed and I arrived in Vancouver in early July for departure on this once in a lifetime Alaska Cruise. My 4 brothers and their wives also joined us for this adventure. We had been planning the family trip for more than a year, in fact most of the planning and coordination was handled by Robert, all the others had to do was to show up.
We all arrived in Vancouver on July 6th for our departure the next day, July 7th and that is SWMbO’s birthday and she was turning … well we won’t get into that. Added to which Marc’s wife Kathleen would be celebrating her birthday while we were at sea.
On this 7 day Alaska Inside Passage cruise we will be visiting:
The Alaska State Capital at Juneau; from Juneau it will be on to the Glacier National Park to explore the incredible Margerie Glacier and the famous “Dirty Glacier” on the British Columbia and Alaska Border both of them located in Glacier Bay; on the return trip we stop at Skagway, Alaska and take the Route of the Gold Rush of 1896 into the Yukon Territory of Canada at Carcross and Whitehorse, Yukon; heading farther south to explore Tracy Arm Fjord with it’s myriad glaciers; and then onto Ketchican before heading into the inside passage on our return to Vancouver.
Our report of this amazing cruise is brought to you in 6 or 7 parts. We truly hope that you will enjoy our stories. Our first episode will be available in just a few days.
