HAPPY 115th BIRTHDAY PHILIPPINES!

It’s June 12, 2013 the anniversary of Independence Day which took place on June 12, 1898 – when Emilio Aquinaldo y Famy declared Philippines Independence in Cavite.

D-Day the Invasion of Europe was 69 years ago…we must never forget!

It was said to have been the largest amphibious invasion the world has ever known. And it was mounted to from Europe from the clutches of Aldolf Hitler and his Nazis.

The Supreme Allied Forces Commander was US General Dwight D. Eisenhower, a soon to be President of the United States.

We don’t propose to write a history of the day, here…but we have prepared a series of photos we have been able to locate to help us all remember what happened on that fateful day.

“The invasion of France began early this morning. Thousands of Canadian, British and American soldiers are storming the beaches of what Hitler calls “Fortress Europe.” The first bulletins arrived at CBC headquarters in Toronto around 3:30 a.m.”
